Toronto’s annual electronic dance music and hip hop music festival just announced its 2019 lineup, and it is going to be wild. Headlining Downsview Park’s VELD music festival this year is none other than Bronx-born rapper Cardi B who will be performing at the fest alongside other huge names like Kygo, Skrillex and Tiesto.
VELD, which first hit the 6ix back in 2012, has hosted numerous popular acts over the years including homegrown electronic legend Deadmau5. The massive festival brings in tens of thousands of fans each year in celebration of the ever-growing hip hop and dance music scene.
Those looking to save a little money on tickets this year should mark their calendars for the event’s pre-sale tickets which starts on March 20th at 10 PM with regular tickets going on sale March 21st at 10 AM.
Hardcore fans also have the option of purchasing a VIP pass which offers a number of enticing perks including:
- A VIP tented area which will feature seating and furniture offering a clear view of the festival’s main stage.
- Access to a VIP only bar, VIP only washrooms, and easy access to water refill stations.
- Fast-pass access into the festival. A.K.A the ability to avoid those annoying lines.
Those planning on attending the festival this year should remember to drink plenty of fluids to avoid becoming dehydrated, which often becomes a problem at these type of events.
Attendees should also avoid taking any “unknown substances” from strangers. Back in 2017, 30 concertgoers had to be escorted off the festival grounds and taken to hospital after overdosing. It is unclear at this time how many overdoses were recorded in 2018.
