This weekend, the Legends of Horror experience will return to Casa Loma for the 2018 season, transforming the historic site into an all-out haunted castle.
A 2-km trail will be set up throughout the castle and will feature classic horror figures in a one-hour, self-guided walking tour. The experience begins in the lower gardens and winds its way through the castle's inner tunnels, dark chambers and some restricted sections which have never been open to the public before.
Through the middle of the tour, guests can stop by at The Caffe to purchase some food and refreshments, as well as use the restrooms before venturing back into the trail.
This year, the Legends of Horror is anticipated to be the scariest one yet. The experience employs the use of intense audio, dim lighting, low visibility, strobe lights, smoke, wet conditions, uneven ground, special effects and sudden movements to create an "overall physically demanding environment" intended to shock and scare guests.
That said, staff advise that guests under 13 should be accompanied by an adult and that individuals with sensitive conditions such as asthma, heart conditions, respiratory issues, claustrophobia or seizures should not enter the castle.
Tickets will be sold online, as well as onsite on a first come, first serve basis. Casa Loma opens for the fall season on Friday, September 28th.
