The Toronto Raptors have gotten a massive makeover, from their new season's jersey to their court at the Air Canada Centre. Their new black and gold colour scheme is not only sleek and sexy but it features logos like "Welcome to Toronto" and "North" in a chevron pointing up. And of course our hometown hero Drake has his finger in the redesign - the jerseys are an OVO edition Raptors alternate jersey.
Additionally, the ‘Welcome Toronto’ logo isn't just a saying - it's also an initiative created by the Toronto Raptors and Drake to reinvest in the local sports community here in the city. In a press release issued earlier by the Raptors, they said, “The Welcome Toronto program will also see Drake and the Raptors donate $1 million to refurbish local community basketball courts and another $2 million to Canada Basketball.”
However Drake hasn't just helping with the new Raptors aesthetic and lending his name to the programs, he has also collaborated with the team on a promotional video and it's absolutely FIRE!
According the Raptors' site, "The Raptors and OVO are collaborating together to bring a partnership that will see the team host a total of six 'Welcome Toronto' and OVO-themed home games this season, where the Raptors will wear their new OVO-edition uniforms and debut a new black and gold home court beginning with games on Friday, January 26 against the Utah Jazz and Sunday, January 28 against the L.A. Lakers."
