Environment Canada just put out a special weather statement for the City of Toronto and other places across southern Ontario.
According to the statement, Toronto is in for a heavy downpour today that could lead to 50 millimetres of rain in the area.
This announcement comes just weeks after an entire summer's worth of rain fell on the city in only a few hours, flooding streets and leaving the city and some residents in a very bad situation.
Of course, now that the streets have dried up and the TTC is pretty much back to normal, the weather is taking a turn for the worse and threatening even more rain to come.
The special weather statement also warns about thunderstorms which, in the most severe cases, can lead to power outages, hail or even tornados.
The special weather statement is in effect in many parts of Southern Ontario as well including York, Durham, and Peel Regions, Hamilton, Belleville, and Waterloo. In Peterborough, there is another specific severe thunderstorm warning in effect.
In Toronto rain is in the forecast for the rest of the day, but the weather is expected to clear up for the weekend.
