Toronto is in for another snowy weekend, with as much as 25 cm of snow expected to fall from Friday morning until Sunday evening.
According to Accuweather, the city will receive signficant snowfall in the 4 to 8 cm range, with possibly 10 cm in one or two localities. Motorists are advised to leave earlier than usual as the winter weather will create poor driving conditions with reduced visibility and untreated roads. Environment Canada has backed this claim, having issued a special weather statement until the early afternoon.
The snowfall will fall in 120-minute intervals and should taper off by Friday evening:
However, it is expected to start right back up again on Saturday and Sunday — for both days, the snowfall will be steady, with anywhere between 5 to 10 cm expected throughout the daytime and 2 to 4 cm expected throughout the evenings.
There will also be a chance of precipitation for both days, which could mean freezing rain events and possible black ice:
Despite the snow, temperatures will be rather mild, ranging between -2 to -8 C. Wind chills will be manageable, with lows of up to -12 C only.
Make sure to bundle up this weekend and drive safe!
