This year's Canadian National Exhibition kicks off this Friday, August 17th. Every visitor to Toronto's annual summer carnival knows that the CNE is celebrated for its eye-popping array of ridiculous foods.
We've rounded up the most exciting things on the menu at this year's CNE to get you even more ready for opening day. In addition, on Tuesday, August 28th and Wednesday, August 29th, guests can get free admission before 1 PM! It's the perfect time to check out all of the crazy food that the CNE has to offer.
Among the list of this year's most outrageous must-try carnival eats are:
- Deep fried Ferrero Rocher chocolate
- Vanilla ice cream cones topped with edible 24-karat gold leaves
- Cotton candy ice cream burritos
- Rainbow Kit Kat crepes
- Mac' n Cheetos popsicles
Other mouthwatering treats include the s'mores fried chicken sandwich, which is a southern-style fried chicken sandwich topped with roasted marshmallows, chocolate, graham cracker crumbs and a chocolate brioche bun.
Also at the top of the list is Cake Shack's Frozen Cheesecake Magnum Bar, covered in vanilla dip icing, rainbow sprinkles, lucky charms and strawberry drizzle. Here's a photo of the over-the-top treat in all its glory:
Cake Shack is also unveiling their “Blue Jay Nest” waffle bowl, a tribute to Toronto's baseball team. Inside the waffle bowl is vanilla ice cream, pretzel, popcorn, caramel drizzle, cotton candy and a baseball donut. Check it out below:
Below we have the chocolate banana "steakclare," a savoury-sweet eclair with juicy steak.
Bonnie+Frank's pork chops on a stick also have sugar-infused combinations, which include whipped cream and chocolate sauce:
And of course, we can't forget about the CNE fan favourite - cheese stuffed Doritos!
Also on the list are bacon onion bombs, cheese-filled churros, pretzel dough bites, inside-out caramel apples, garlic bread burgers, and Hong Kong-style french toast curds. The list just goes on and on!
