New Years Eve may have been your last chance to sit at a heated patio and enjoy a cigarette. As of January 1st, it is now illegal to smoke on restaurant and bar patios, as well in children's playgrounds, and publicly owned sports fields in all of Ontario. While some may be excited about Toronto becoming even more of a smoke-free city, smokers may feel like they have nowhere left to turn.
It's unclear just how many bars have taken this ban seriously yet, but you can bet that everyone's going to be feeling the difference come patio season. If the appeal of patio sitting for you is being able to enjoy a beer and a cigarette with the sun shining on your face, you're not going to have a good time.
