After a slew of delays, it looks like Jollibee is finally be on track to open this spring 2018 in Toronto (Scarborough).
A source has revealed to me that the highly-anticipated Jollibee restaurant in Scarborough's Kennedy Commons has plans to open on March 25 of this year. Such is only a possible target opening date for the restaurant — assuming there are no more setbacks, Torontonians may finally get a taste of the iconic Filipino fast food in a month's time.
The information was revealed to the source during an interview. The company is currently filling crew positions for its Scarborough and Mississauga locations. You can apply online via the official Jollibee Canada website here.
Last year, developer Rio Can released a map indicating where Jollibee would be situated in Kennedy Commons. The store is making the necessary arrangements for its grand opening, according to the Jollibee Canada Facebook page.
As for the Mississauga location, it's unclear whether the March 25 target also applies. Previous reports claimed that the Scarborough location would be opening first, and then the Mississauga location. According to the Heartland Centre website, fans can expect Jollibee to open at the new Seafood City facility in "early 2018."
Jollibee has plans to expand beyond the GTA as well. Dianne Yorro, the brand manager for Jollibee North America, told Retail Insider that "there are plans to open in Edmonton" in 2019, as well as in Vancouver.
