Tomorrow morning's commute may have been salvaged in the form of a cape-wearing Toronto radio DJ, otherwise known as the #HOVHero.
We already told you about how you could pay $55 for two young men to hitch a ride in your car so that you can make use of the new 3-person minimum carpool lanes, but now you can save that money and buy yourself something pretty. Popular Toronto radio station, 99.9 Virgin Radio's, morning show, Tucker In The Morning will be sending out fellow on-air personality, Dames Nellas and a friend, to hop in your car with you.
The #HOVHero and a buddy will make you a trio giving you the liberty to cruise in the, what always seem to be empty, HOV lanes put into effect for the Toronto Pan Am and Para PanAm games. One week into the new carpool lane regulations Toronto has already seen an incredible increase in travel times and drivers who use the HOV lanes without the minimum requirement of passengers could be slapped with a $110 fine.
So why not pick up a grown man wearing a cape on the side of the road? If you're worried about the awkwardness or discomfort that may come with picking up total strangers, not to worry we've heard that Dames is a great conversationalist, smells nice and his background in radio probably means he knows a thing or two about picking good road trip tunes.
