Everyone's been diggin' on Queen West for a while now. It's mid-gentrification-mode, which means its still got that edge that comes with being a home for street artists and punks, and its also got a softer side, that allows it to embrace the production of artisanal goods. Or, as the New York Times puts it, it's "a neighborhood caught between the twin attractions of latte and graffiti."
In a piece they published today, NYT gives readers a brief history of Queen West, and then showcases some of the best things about the neighbourhood, like the BYOB Cocktail Emporium, which has over 160 different kinds of bitters, and Cry Wolf, which prides itself in being All Canadian All the Time. You can check out the full article here. It'll have you appreciating this neighbourhood a little bit more.
