With 40 to 70 millimetres of rain expected to fall before Saturday, the city of Toronto is preparing for a possible flooding.
According to CBC News Toronto, Toronto Islands are currently keeping the William Inglis vessel at Ward's Dock overnight, to serve as a possible shelter for storm relief.
Lake Ontario is currently at its highest level in years, and with heavy rain expected to hit Toronto tonight, the city is preparing for the possibility of a flood.
There are approximately 700 residents of Toronto Islands, all of whom will have to be evacuated in case of a flood. There have already been reports of high water levels on island roads and near park buildings.
