The Ontario Government announced Wednesday that it will be opening new DriveTest locations to Ontario cities that need them most, while extending the hours of service at some of the province's busiest existing centres.
With convenience and improving customer service at the forefront of these changes, the province announced that the two new DriveTest Centres will be added to Mississauga and Markham.
According to their estimations, the Mississauga location will be incredibly busy with around 300,000 local customers expected to use this new location. In doing so, the province projects that the new centre will help reduce wait times at seven nearby centres when the new centre opens in summer 2018.
As for the new Markham location, it's expected to have about 100,000 customers and reduce the wait-times at nine nearby centres when this centre opens in 2019.
And to help service people better, the province is extending office hours at 13 of the province's busiest DriveTest Centres, including:
Brampton, Etobicoke, Newmarket, Downsview, Hamilton, Toronto Metro East, Ottawa Walkley, Kitchener and Port Union locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, starting the week of December 18, 2017.
Oakville, Windsor, and Orangeville locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays by the end of January 2018, and on Saturdays starting February 3, 2018.
The London location will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays by the end of January 2018.
