Ontario residents are set to get some relief at the pumps tonight. The price of gas is set to go down at midnight tonight.
The exact decrease will vary across the province, but it will be going down by an average of four cents to about $1.31/liter.
According to Gas Buddy, a smartphone app that informs people of the cheapest prices for gas near them, the current prices for gas in Ontario are currently around five cents cheaper per litre than the average prices across the country.
The prices for both Canada and Ontario have been going down since reaching the highest price it had ever been in the past year at an average of $1.35/liter.
Lower gas prices were one of Premier Doug Ford's promises he made during the election and now it appears it may actually be happening.
During the campaign, he said he would lower the gas prices by 10 cents a litre across the province as part of his plan to cut the cap and trade program and carbon tax, which he did as one of his first acts in government.
Ontarians should hold off on buying gas today if they can since prices won't be falling until midnight tonight.
