Ontario Transport Truck Driver Slams Through Highway Sound Barrier Into A Backyard (VIDEO)
A transport truck heading west on Highway 403 survived a near-fatal crash Wednesday morning.
An Ontario transport truck driver is lucky to walk away from an accident alive. The trucker lost control of his vehicle around 8:30 AM this morning while driving on Highway 403 near Brantford, smashing the massive transport truck through a sound barrier directly into someone backyard.
Ontario Provincial Police reported that the truck had experienced a mechanical issue. “It looks like the driver experienced some mechanical failure with the front-right tire,” explained Constable Ed Sanchuk in a video. “That front-right tire caused the driver to leave the roadway, go through a sound barrier wall and into somebody’s backyard.”
Shocking photos of the scene show the truck mangled in the backyard, completely destroyed from smashing into the highway's sound barrier. The flatbed also appears to be wedged between two trees in the images. The wreckage of the vehicle barely even resembles a transport truck, with the truck tires completely twisted by the impact.
Miraculously, no one was hurt in the disaster with the driver walking away from the situation with only minor injuries. Thankfully, the residents of the home were not hurt either. Their names have not been released at this time.
The driver was reportedly able to exit the vehicle on his own and had already escaped the wreckage by the time emergency services arrived on the scene. Paramedics escorted the driver to the hospital as a precaution to treat his minor injuries.
According to CP24, the incident has impacted traffic on the 403 with lanes being reduced near King George Road as the scene is cleared.
Accidents like these are almost always fatal. The fact that the driver will be able to return home tonight uninjured is nothing short of a miracle.
