The City of Toronto is currently recruiting volunteers for something that most of us would pay to do: cuddle small, cute animals.
Yup, in the best job ever, Toronto Animal Services is looking for people to play and snuggle up to their cats and rabbits. The description reads: "This is a rewarding experience for the volunteer, but also crucial to the physical and mental well-being of the animals in our care, and helps them get adopted."
This isn't a new job - volunteers have been doing this for years in an effort to help the animals with socialization, and the position is rewarding for both parties.
But don't get too excited. The opportunity to cuddle with creatures in need isn't paid. The position is volunteer only, and is available at all animal shelters across Toronto.
Time commitment is flexible according to The City, and time slots can be based around a volunteer's schedule. However, they are looking for someone who can be consistent (Every Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.). Volunteers are also required to attend an orientation and review the TAS Volunteer manual.
