Yorkdale Mall, which has been notorious for its seemingly never-ending construction over the past three years, will finally see the completion of its much anticipated renovation on October 18 of this year.

The $331 million expansion entails a new 112,000 square foot addition that will house 30 new stores, including brand names like Uniqlo, Arc'teryx, Nadège, Wolford, Reiss, Strellson, Spareparts, Saje, Muji, Samsung, NYX and Mackage. A 188,000 square foot Nordstrom location is also expected to open within the mall on October 21.

But perhaps what's even more exciting are the updates that will be made to the parking situation - after an excavation of more than 350,000 cubic metres of earth (the equivalent of 140 Olympic-sized swimming pools), Yorkdale will see more paved parking spaces and a 5-level, 2,000-space underground parking garage. There's no confirmation that these updates will be finished at the same time that the expansion is revealed, but we can always hope...

Yorkdale is one of the most profitable malls in Canada, with several retailers seeing their highest sales worldwide there.
