Heading over to the Toronto Islands is a classic summer activity for all Torontotonians. This summer, however, a trip to the island will sadly have to be postponed due to flooding.
Over the past two months, the Toronto Islands have been hit with over 236 millimetres of rain. That's almost 60% above average, according to CP24.
City officials announced this morning that the closure of the islands has been exptended until at least July 31st. Water levels are expected to rise even further over the next few weeks should the rain continue.
