When you choose your major at age 17 or 18, you likely don't know exactly what field you're going to end up in. That probably explains why so many of us end up seeking jobs in disciplines that are unrelated to our university majors.
An interesting study completed by Emoulment surveyed 1,800 graduates to determine which majors were deemed the most worthwhile. Chemistry and Natural Sciences came out on top with 87% reporting that the degree was "worth it." On the other end of the spectrum, only 33% of Psychology grads felt the same about their discipline.
