It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Toronto and we're not just saying that because of all the holiday drinks at Starbucks. As the forecasts predicted, snow is falling in Ontario and the city of Toronto is getting its first taste of it.
While weather experts called for a wet mix of rain and snow, we can confirm in Toronto and other parts of the GTA there is real white snow falling from the sky and some of it is even sticking around. As one Twitter user shared, "we have flakage!"
Other Torontonians have taken to social media to share their videos of the snow falling and it's either really exciting or totally depressing. While this snow is getting some people excited for Christmas and the holidays, others may find the idea of having to brush off their cars devastating.
While the snow in Toronto is getting people talking, other parts of the GTA are getting even more of the stuff. In Aurora, just an hour north of Toronto, the snow actually looks like it could be here to stay for a bit.
Considering the temperatures for the next few days, the chances of the snow sticking are high. On Saturday, it's going to be below 0°C all day, with a low of -5°C. Even as it warms up a bit for Sunday and Monday, there's even more snow in the forecast for the middle of next week.
What that means is if you haven't changed to your winter tires yet, you may want to get on that ASAP. It's also a good idea to make sure you have your snow brush handy because you're going to be brushing off your car sooner than you think.
Even if you think this early November snowfall is depressing, you can't deny that a white Christmas is always the best and Ontario is in for that this year. According to the farmer's almanac, we are going to be getting lots of snow over the next two months so get ready for a real winter and picture-perfect Christmas.
