The parking situation in Toronto is a hot mess. The City of Toronto says that it gives out tickets in an attempt to ease traffic congestion; but the funny thing is that the top ticketed spots in the city aren't even that near to heavy traffic areas.

According to a recent analysis by CBC's Marketplace, the worst place to park in Toronto is 2075 Bayview Avenue, which is the address of Sunnybrook Hospital. Last year, 9,073 tickets were issued and a total of $274,000 was generated from paid fines. Needless to say, getting a parking ticket at a hospital must be the most stressful experience ever.

Another spot that made the list was Shops at Don Mills, where over 2,800 tickets were issued to vehicles (mostly for parking in a fire route). With each ticket costing around $230 on average, a total of $643,000 was generated from paid fines.

Overall, Toronto gave out close to 6,000 tickets a day, generating around $100 million in 2015.
