In a second tweet, the medics on site confirmed that the injuries are severe and the man has been transferred to a trauma centre. One cryptic tweet from someone inside the mall has suggested that the fall may have been intentional, though nothing has been confirmed by officials.
A second user on Twitter stated that they walked by the man in the mall and stated he was covered in blood with his eyes open.
Apparently the man at the Eaton Centre jumped from the 2nd floor. Just saw him on a gurney alive but in rough shape. Tragic. They should really make the guard rails a bit higher. pic.twitter.com/SlEjqrKFLq— Chris Spiering (@cspiering) October 23, 2018

Photo's from the scene on social media suggest that the man fell down from the second floor to the fountain on the main floor of the mall. You can see the sign for the Urban Eatery escalators leading to the basement in the tweet above.
Narcity is continuing to investigate this story as more details unfold. More to come.
