Tomorrow is the day Torontonians have all been waiting for. In less than 24 hours, marijuana is going to be legalized across the country.
Okay, maybe not everyone has been eagerly awaiting legalization day. If smoking weed isn't your thing, I've got something else for you to get excited about.
Scotiabank Arena is giving away more free PRESTO cards in Toronto tomorrow!
The arena previously gave out thousands of pre-loaded cards a few weeks ago at select TTC and GO stations to mark the Toronto Maple Leafs home opener.
Let me tell you, it caused complete chaos. So, if you're wanting to score a free card tomorrow, get out your war paint.
10,000 free cards will be given away again at select TTC and GO stations to celebrate the Toronto Raptors home opener. The cards will be pre-loaded with $6 at the TTC stations and $8 at the GO stations.
All you have to do to score a card is tell a designated ambassador at one of the participating stations that you're going to Scotiabank Arena. Oh ya, and if we're using the last giveaway as an example, you'll also have to wait in a line of hundreds of people trying to do the same thing.
The previous giveaway went down right in the middle of rush hour (smart). Sidewalks along the city were blocked and Line 1 subways customers saw huge delays and overcrowding at College, Eglington and Finch stations.
The TTC Twitter account was sure to make it clear to frustrated customers that they were not involved in the giveaway, "Hi Kaila, this was an initiative by @PRESTOcard and @scotiabank I'm sorry if you were negatively impacted," they said to one person.
Apparently, Scotiabank Arena and PRESTO didn't learn anything from the last time. This giveaway will also be starting at 4 PM this Wednesday, October 17th. So, I would say either take your chances at the stations below if you're brave enough or avoid them at all costs.
