Basma Hameed, a Toronto-based tattoo artist, has been operating for three years now. She runs the Basma Hameed Clinic, at which she uses her skills to get rid of peoples unsightly scars. For many people who have suffered sever burns or injuries, there isn't a lot the cosmetics industry can do. There are many aspects of scarification that plastic surgery can do nothing about.
Enter Hameed, who, through a series of treatments, is able to restore people's skin to its original colour. Apart from people with scars, Hameed also works on people with vitiligo, and breast cancer survivors. Her work has been so successful that she's been a guest on talk shows like The Doctors, and has even managed to open a second clinic in Chicago.
Hameed also runs a charity, the Basma Hameed Survivors Foundation, through which she offers tattoo therapy to people who can't afford it. You can find out more about her work at her website.
