Up to 30 cm of snow is expected to fall in Toronto and other cities close to Lake Ontario, including Hamilton and Niagara Falls. The storm is to start in the afternoon and last until Tuesday night. Commuters are advised by Environment Canada to take extra caution during their travels this week, or to avoid it altogether. Heavy snowfall coupled with blowing snow conditions will make commuting particularly dangerous.

Eastern Canada will be subject to the same conditions, with Nova Scotia, PEI and New Brunswick also under special weather statements.
