Toronto To Be Hit By Massive Thunderstorm With Winds Up To 90 km/h
April showers bring May... Thunderstorms? Toronto and the GTA have been issued a severe thunderstorm warning by Environment Canada for today, with heavy rain and strong winds expected to arise later this afternoon and evening.
Gusts may travel as fast as 90 km/h, and commuters are advised to be on high alert for loose objects that may be carried by the wind. The heavy downpour is also expected to cause flooding in various areas of the GTA, so drivers are advised to maneuver slowly when on the roads. The storm arrives during one of Toronto's warmer days, with a high of 18 C expected in the city today.
Other regions in Ontario including Peterborough are also expected to receive the same stormy conditions.
