After a few days of rainy weather, the heat is slowly making a comeback in Toronto with sunny skies and gorgeous temperatures expected for the first weekend of August.
According to The Weather Network's latest 7 day forecast, Toronto will reach 'real feel' temperatures of 36 and 39 C on Saturday and Sunday respectively, with mainly sunny conditions and 24 full hours of sun each. This is great news for anyone planning a trip to Cabana Pool Bar or hosting a backyard barbecue for the Civic Holiday long weekend, as the the chance of rain will be relatively low (POP: 20%)
However, the city will have to get past a couple of potentially stormy days first before it can enjoy the almost-40-degree temperatures. With the exception of Monday (which will see near perfect summer weather with a max of 28 C), the days leading up the the weekend will host a few showers and thunderstorms; particularly Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Wednesday, which is officially the first day of August, shows the highest chance of rain, with a POP of 70%. The upside is that it will still be relatively warm that day, with a high of 26 C and a 'real feel' of 33 C.
Environment Canada reminds everyone to stay cool, hydrated and protected from the sun by wearing sunscreen. Those with older relatives should also make sure to check up on them, as the high heat conditions could still be hazardous.
