Don't put away your winter coats just yet, Toronto - the city could see as much as 5 to 10 cm of snow by Friday, according to Environment Canada.

A special weather statement has been issued for Toronto and Southern Ontario regarding the mixed snow and freezing rain that is expected to fall later this week. The areas that will be most affected by such include those north of Lake Ontario and south of Georgian Bay.

On Friday, the snow is likely to switch to rainfall, with as much as 25 to 40 millimetres expected to drop.
