Toronto Tutor Charged For Sexually Assaulting A 13-Year-Old Girl Multiple Times
Charges have been laid by Toronto Police against a tutor in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl.
Toronto Police Services have laid charges against a local tutor, 55-year-old Nitinkumar Joshi of Toronto, for allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl, according to a news release. The suspect was arrested by members of the Child & Youth Advocacy Centre on March 1st, 2019. Reports have indicated that Joshi is independently employed as a tutor, and provided services for students out of his personal residence in the area of Lexington Avenue and Martingrove Road.
He is known by residents within his local community to also offer tutoring services outside his home to both high school and university students.
Joshi allegedly sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl who met with him at his house between August 2016 and October 2018.
He reportedly communicated with the 13-year-old girl via text message, as well as engaging with her on other social media channels. Toronto Police have reported that the girl accused the man of sexually assaulting her on multiple occasions. Below is a photo of Joshi provided by the Toronto Police:
Joshi currently faces charges against him for sexual assault, as well as sexual interference. The police report states that Joshi is scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at 2:00 PM in room 202.
According to Joshi's LinkedIn profile, he proclaims to be a Math Tutor at a company called Math Power.
