Toronto's largest free art festival Nuit Blanche is back again this year featuring some exciting large scale art exhibits scattered across the city. With that, the free Queen West dance party is making it's much anticipated comeback as well, except this time it's with official Nuit Blanche status!
This year, on September 30th people from all over the GTA will meet up during the night of Nuit Blanche to participate in the Wiggly Street: An Official Nuit Blanche installation, a huge street dance that's absolutely free. The exhibit is a lot more than just an outdoor party, it's actually a multi-disciplinary art installation that uses visual, physical, and audio elements as its medium.
The street event was previously one of the most popular renegade installations, and with it now gaining official status over a thousand people have shown interest on their Facebook event page.
The event takes place from 7 PM on the eve of Nuit Blanche till 7 AM the next day. The event's exact location is at Thompson Lanesway, located between Hamilton St. and Broadview Ave., just north of Queen St.
The lineup of DJs and performers has not been released, but like in previous years, the event plans on showcasing some of the best artists in Toronto's music and arts scene yet again.
Like mentioned, the event is free yet again but donations to support the installation and it's official involvement in Nuit Blanche can be given here.
