Ah, the TTC continues to shock us, and not in a good way. A jaw dropping video was uploaded to YouTube yesterday of a streetcar caught in the middle of a cable explosion. The video is a little shaky since it was most likely taken in a hasty fashion, and with a phone camera, but from what we can tell the cable snapped while the streetcar was still in motion causing the power line to spark.
The car doesn't appear to have any passengers on board (thank god) but even so, this is still a disappointing sight to witness. I'd honestly rather the TTC spend money on strengthening the streetcar cables than giving the cars themselves a makeover.
