UNIQLO Just Announced The Locations Of Their New Ontario Stores That Are Set To Open This Spring

UNIQLO opening two new stores in Ontario this spring 2019.

As part of their already successful expansion into the Canadian retail market, UNIQLO has just revealed that they're opening two brand new stores in Ontario this spring. The two locations will be opening at popular shopping centres known as "Class A malls", that see steady foot traffic and impressive collective revenue. Both malls in question are already home to other Japanese retailers, such as Miniso and MUJI.

The city of Oshawa is one of the two locations chosen by UNIQLO for their Ontario expansion. According to Retail Insider, the 16,000 square foot location is set to open at Oshawa Centre this spring. UNIQLO has secured prime real estate on the ground level of the shopping centre, between Victoria's Secret and Zara.

UNIQLO has also set their sights on Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket, Ontario for their second new store location. Upper Canada Mall is located just north of Toronto - it also recently introduced a massive new food market with dozens of artisan vendors, so it's certainly the place to be in the northern suburbs of the GTA. Retail Insider reports that the store will be 15,038 square feet in size and will be located right beside H&M.

The COO of UNIQLO says that the brand is thrilled to expand their presence in the GTA, "especially in Oshawa, an already well-established shopping destination and a city that vibrates with concerts, sports events and festivals, and in Newmarket, one of the most dynamic, diverse and desirable towns to live and work in Canada."

The Toronto area has always been one of UNIQLO's primary destinations in Canada for expanding abroad. The Japanese clothing store first landed in the six in September 2016 at the Toronto Eaton Centre, followed by a multi-level location at Yorkdale Mall.

UNIQLO has been consistently successful at keeping their Canadian customers coming back for more with irresistible incentives like free clothing giveaways. Plus, their trademark minimalist style and their affordable price points are enough to make them one of Canada's most beloved Japanese brands.
