Fort McMurray residents who were affected by the massive wildfires in May experienced a Christmas miracle this past weekend.

WestJet held an event called the Snowflake Soirée in the city, with country artist Johnny Reid as the headliner of a free concert. But that wasn't the biggest surprise - rather, it was when parachutes were dropped from the sky; each carrying a Christmas ornament that contained free WestJet plane tickets for each family and their members.

WestJest has a history of giving back to the people, and this year they felt it was more than fitting to choose the Fort McMurray community since they've all had an incredibly difficult year.
