If you're craving a macaron, you won't have to wait much longer to get yourself one of the best in the world.
Iconic French patisserie Ladurée - credited with inventing the macaron - is coming to Toronto, and they've just announced an opening date.
The famous Parisian shop will open its doors to its Yorkdale Shopping Centre location at noon on December 14, 2017, and having been hotly anticipated over the last few weeks, expect lines of similar epic proportions to The Cheesecake Factory's opening last month.
Yorkdale is already killing it with Drake's OVO store, the incredible lineups for The Cheesecake Factory and their new pop-up space for cheesecake on a stick, and now they're adding the world's most delicious macarons to the list too.
The tea salon, which seats just 23, will serve brewed beverages along with sweet and savoury treats. They're widely credited with having invented the colourful, bite-sized pastry, and has been dubbed as Paris' - and the world's - best makers of macarons, rivalled only by fellow French pastry chef Pierre Hermé.
The confectioner now has more than 50 locations worldwide, including 15 in France and two in Vancouver. And the arrival of the cult Parisian macaron shop in Toronto is sure to generate huge lines. Ladurée's 2016 opening in Vancouver, its first Canadian location, saw two-hour lineups on opening weekend.
Mark the day in your calendars, you're going to want to get up bright and early for this.
