You Can Now Get Day Drunk In Any Local Toronto Bar As Early As 7AM This February

It's never too early for mimosas.

If you're disappointed about the move to remove NHL players from the Olympic Winter Hockey Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea  - well we have some news that will surely pick you up. You'll now be able to drink your sorrows (or celebrate our victories) away at local Toronto bars as early as 7 AM during the semi and medal Olympic hockey games.

The reason for the exception on the normally very strict 11AM liquor law serving time, is due to the time zone difference between South Korea and Canada. South Korea is about 14 hours ahead of Toronto meaning that our hockey games will air at an early 7AM - preventing local bar owners from serving during a peak time of the year for them.

City councillor Mike Layton petitioned to allow the sale of alcohol during the festivities and according to the City of Toronto they will "authorize the extension of alcohol sales and service hours in the City of Toronto to begin at 7:00 a.m. on February 19, 23 and 24, 2018 to allow the public, and local cafes and restaurants to enjoy and benefit from the medal games"

According to the Motion, the games eligible for 7AM alcohol service include, the Women's and Men's semi-finals and Bronze Medal Games.
