10 Things To Do With Your Girlfriend Before Summer Ends In Toronto

Do more fun stuff.

Yes, it's true, summer is finally coming to an end. No more getting out of the house to enjoy the heat of the sun, no more warm late nights on the Harbourfront, and no more short shorts and bikinis on top. You're sad about it, your girlfriend's sad about it, we're all sad about it.

Take advantage of the last few weeks of summer by doing some fun things in Toronto with your girlfriend. There are still plenty of things going on and plenty of things to do! Get out of your comfort zones and try new things. Lounging around at home together may be fun but don't spend your last few weeks of summer doing that – you have the entire cold winter. You don't want to look back three months from now when it's freezing outside and think, "wow, I had a lousy summer." You'll thank me later.

1. Canoe to the Toronto Islands

You might've taken a ferry to get to the Islands before, but have you ever canoed there? Nah, didn't think so! Spend the day out on the water, explore the quiet lagoons of the Islands, chillax on the beach, and admire the sunset over the skyline with bae. Enjoy the warm weather while it's still here. There are different tours you can try out which range between $10 to $30 a person.

2. Take a stroll down Harbourfront

Head on down to the Harbourfront and have a little walk around the docks area during sunset. It's a pretty simple idea but it's not something everyone really thinks of doing. You can even hang around late night and enjoy the luminous view of the lake. The little things in life are some of the best ones.

4. Wine and dine while watching a movie VIP style

Instead of just watching a movie, why not watch a movie VIP style at Cineplex? You gotta treat yourselves sometimes. It's a little more expensive but you get to sit in deluxe seats while enjoying delicious food such as shrimp ceviche and tandoori flatbread. You can even have wine while you watch the movie. It's also half-price admission Tuesdays.

5. Take her to see the Andy Warhol exhibition

When you think Andy Warhol, you probably think of pop art, Campbell's Soup, and Marilyn Monroe. At the pop-up Warhol Revisited exhibition in Yorkville, there's way more than that. There are over 120 works being displayed so you can spend an entire romantic evening there. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students.

Are you and your girl more of the adventurous types? Why not try your luck and problem-solving skills with a room escape game? Trapped is a good one with four different themes to choose from (if you're brave enough).

7. Win her prizes at the Ex

Are you willing to spend dolla dolla bills to win your girl a giant Minion plushie? Do you think you've got what it takes to even win anything? Those games are hard as heck, so we don't blame you if you don't. At the end of the night, ride the ferris wheel to get a wicked view of the skyline. The CNE is open from August 21st to September 7th this year. There's also a huge food truck fest happening August 28th to 30th, so be sure to check that out!

10. Go on a hike and check out the waterfalls in Hamilton

Okay, maybe this isn't really in Toronto, but it's close and it's something you and your girlfriend will definitely enjoy. There are over 100 waterfalls in Hamilton and some of them are pretty damn astounding. Some are more of a trek than others, so be sure to do your research and find which ones you want to go to. You don't get to do this in the city!
