12 Summer Date Ideas That Cost Under $10

After a long, dull winter, it feels good so good to say that summer is finally around the corner! We're lucky to live in a city with so much to do and see, especially during the warmer months.
If you want to take advantage of the good weather but don't have the budget for ~~ dates, don't panic. There are tons of fun date options in Toronto that will cost you $10 or less. You and your S.O. can thank me later ;)
1. Go to Beaches Jazz Fest
From July 7-30th, you catch incredible live music, unique workshops and delicious food at the Beaches Jazz Fest. The best part? Attendance is totally free!
2. Dress up for the Woodbine Races
Pull a My Fair Lady and dress up for a day at the races! The minimum bet is $2 and you can spend the day cheering on your favourite horse together.
3. Visit the Botanical Gardens
The Botanical Gardens is a four-acre park with plenty to see. There are 17 mini-parks within the Gardens, each themed after a different city. During the summer, there are free walking tours on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
4. Check out Shakespeare in the Park
Get your culture on at a performance of King Lear or Twelfth Night at Shakespeare in High Park. Admission is pay what you can, so a $10 donation is definitely acceptable.
5. Free Movie at Harbourfront Centre
Date night at the movies is a classic, but unless you have a million Scene points, it can definitely add up. The Harbourfront Centre runs free outdoor movies throughout the summer, so all you have to pay for is popcorn!
6. Go biking along Toronto Islands
Grab your bikes and take the ferry over to Toronto Islands for a totally free date! There are tons of scenic bike paths that are perfect for a romantic ride for two.
7. Picnic in Riverdale Park
Grab a blanket and pack a basket full of snacks for a cute picnic in Riverdale Park. Besides the cost of the food, it's completely free, and you'll get a front row seat to the best view of Toronto.
9. Go on a tour of Steamwhistle Brewery
Tours of the Steamwhistle Brewery are completely free and come with complimentary samples. Perfect for the beer lover in your life!
10. Stargaze at the U of T Planetarium
