It's quite obvious that fall is everyones favourite season. Having the leaves change colours, the temperature becoming just right to wear your cutest outfits, and the endless cups of coffee and tea, it's no surprise that fall comes with a bucket list. Well, at least it does now. Here are a few things that everyone must do in Toronto this fall, or else you're doing fall wrong.
1. Go Apple and Pumpkin Picking
This is a fall ritual. How else are you going to make apple cider and carve out pumpkins if you don't go get them yourself? Check out Brooks Farms or Andrews' Scenic Acres!
2. Go Oversized Vintage Sweater Shopping on Kensington Avenue
You know you want to. Picture this: sitting next to your warm fireplace while sipping on a cup of apple cinnamon tea while curling yourself up in your favourite oversized sweater. Kensington Avenue is full of vintage boutiques you can easily find comfy sweaters and knitwear for the fall.
3. Enjoy a Pumpkin Spiced Latte at TOT The Cat Cafe
Although not opened just yet, this will be a huge hit in Toronto this fall. I mean, who doesn't want to snuggle up with a furry friend and drink a latte? You can keep posted with TOT The Cat Cafe's Facebook Page!
4. Take Cute Fall Photos at High Park
The beautiful scenery calls for a new Insta photo. Not only is High Park's scenery gorgeous, but it's also so big that the odds of anyone seeing you take a few selfies are slim to none.
5. Go on a Haunted Cruise on Toronto's Ghost Ship
It's like Pirates of the Caribbean... but better. On October 31st Toronto's biggest ghost cruise ship will be departing into the misty waters of Lake Ontario. What better place to get spooked than on a boat in the middle of nowhere?
6. Go Horseback Riding at The Ranch
Break into your new fall boots by going on a cute horseback riding date with your significant other. The Ranch is located in GTA's Oakville and provides horseback riding trail rides and lessons.
7. Try Pumpkin Flavoured Beer
The LCBO's will be stocking up with yes, pumpkin flavoured ale. So sit back, relax, and enjoy some limited time pumpkin beer.
8. DIY Your Own Candles
You know you have a candle obsession and your room already smells of Bath and Body Works Mahogany Teakwood, so why not go make your own candles? There are many art supply stores that sell all the ingredients you need to make your own candles like Canwax in Toronto. Check out how Youtube's Lisa Pullano makes a fall inspired Starbucks Latte Candle!
9. Be Artsy and Visit One of Toronto's Art Shows
This fall, Toronto is holding multiple shows for all you art lovers out there. You can check out Toronto's Contemporary Art Fair between October 23-26 at the Metro Convention Centre!
10. Go Hot Chocolate Cafe Hopping
It's like bar hopping... minus the alcohol. Toronto is filled with cute little cafe's all that make hot chocolate slightly different. From French to organic hot chocolate, there are many cups to enjoy, and you won't feel guilty because a "hot chocolate belly" is way more satisfactory than a beer belly. Check out Soma Chocolatemaker and Chocolateria!
11. Grab a Book and Go to the International Festival of Authors Convention
Fall reminds us that cuddling up with a blanket and a book is perhaps the most relaxing thing ever. If you're book worm and can relate, visit Toronto's International Festival of Authors Convention at the Harbourfront Centre held between October 24-November 3rd. With over 100 authors signings and readings, including the famous Margaret Atwood, there's no excuse not to check this off your fall bucket list.
12. Get Drinks at The Lockhart
*Insert Happy Potter theme song* This Harry Potter themed bar has been the biggest buzz this fall and getting a "potion" or an "elixirs" drink...is a must.
13. Get Lost... and Drunk at a Corn Maze
Where are we going? A great question you are bound to ask when you get lost at Whittamore's Berry Farm corn maze. You can make it even funner and have a few drinks with your friends beforehand because we all know that getting lost is just the fun part.
14. Get a Massage That Will Make You "Fall" Head Over Heels
Too bad that pumpkin spiced lube wasn't a real thing. Don't fret, you can still get sensual in the bedroom with you bae (fall inspired of course) by getting a massage with Bath and Body Works "Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin" lotion. You can also treat your bae to a massage at the Body Blitz spa in Toronto.
15. Go Zip-lining Through the Fall Foliage
I mean, this is pretty badass for the fall. The GTA's Heart Lake Conservation Area in Brampton includes 7 zip-lines you can ride down while simultaneously checking out the fall foliage. 2 in 1? I think so.
