A Huge Winter Village Is Coming To Toronto This Holiday Season

Toronto's Evergreen Brickworks is the place to be for holiday fun in breathtaking winter scenery.

For another magical year, Evergreen Brickworks is transforming into a massive outdoor holiday fair called The Winter Village. Starting in early December, the historic city park will be the place to go for winter fun, food and shopping.

As part of The Winter Village experience, Evergreen Brickworks will offer a huge lineup of outdoor winter attractions, including skating, street curling, outdoor campfires and food trucks selling warm holiday treats. The Winter Village is completely free to attend and it's on every weekend in December plus select weekdays around Christmastime.

Also making a comeback to The Winter Village this year is the Etsy Holiday Market, one of the best markets in the city for unique holiday gifts. The market will feature a rotating roster of over 35 local Ontario Etsy artisans selling handmade decor and gifts for the holidays.

Visitors can also look forward to picking up their Christmas tree at the Evergreen Garden Market this year. The Garden Market has six locally-grown tree varieties, ranging from 2.5 ft to 14 ft tall! Plus all the ornaments, garlands and wreaths that your Christmas-obsessed heart could ever wish for.

The rink at Evergreen Brickworks is arguably the most breathtaking place to skate in the whole city. Located at the restored old brick factory, the rink is surrounded by exposed beams and snow-covered gardens. "When the sun goes down the twinkling lights come on, creating a magical experience under a blanket of stars," their website says.

In addition to eating at the outdoor food market and skating under the falling snow, you can also bundle up and go on a group hike around the historic 40-acre property. There's nothing quite like the sight of Toronto's oldest brick buildings covered in fresh white snow, and you absolutely have to check it out for yourself.
