There aren't many things that are as Canadian as a butter tart. Sure, we also created poutine, Beaver Tails, and Nanaimo bars but butter tarts are a true indulgence. I mean, you can't go wrong with a gooey molten butter centre and the flaky crust that just melts in your mouth.
Okay, now that you're all sufficiently drooling I want to tell you about a very exciting event that's happening in Toronto this month! Etobicoke is hosting their very own butter tart festival this April and I'm basically counting down the days.
The Etobicoke Butter Tart Festival will be taking place at the PLAST Huculak Centre on April 27th. You can visit the festival to eat an enormous amount of delicious butter tarts anytime from 10 am to 4 pm!
Tons of great vendors are already lined up including Omi's Sweet n Treats with their butter tart stuffed cupcakes, Bruno's Bakery and Cafe, Grandma's Beach Treats, Kate's Town Talk Bakery, Cupcake Goodness, Joanie's Pastries for a gluten-free option and so much more!
As a twist to this year's festival, they'll be having visitors vote for their favourite butter tart and tell them why they're the favourite. After voting, one person will win a $50 gift certificate to their favourite bakery!
Check out their Facebook page for more information and updates on the event!
