The bar scene is pretty amazing in Toronto right now. From themed bars to sophisticated rooftop bars and now hidden bars popping up all over the place in the city, there's no shortage of cool spots to get your cute cocktail fix!
The hidden bar scene has been big in cities like New York and Paris for a while now and it's finally taking our city of Toronto by storm! There are tons of secret bars scattered across the city in unsuspecting places like ones with secret passwords to enter, hidden behind barber shops, behind unmarked door lit only with a small neon sign, and many more.
The newest hidden bar on the scene has a super unique theme that many wouldn't think to be associated with a bar. The church-themed bar is totally unique in the city but instead of praying, you'll be doing a whole lot of drinking here!
The Vatican Gift Shop is located at 1047 Gerrard St East in Toronto's Leslieville area. From the outside, this bar looks like an unassuming gift shop selling religious trinkets like crucifix pendants, rosaries, and more. But when you walk through the unmarked wooden door at the back of the shop you'll enter into their hidden bar!
The space is decorated with all kinds of church-themed accents like their Sistine Chapel wallpaper on the ceiling, a confessional to confess all your sins, a stage with a church pew, and so much more! If you're in the mood to try out a new, unique spot this is definitely the place to come.
The cocktails are perfectly crafted and they also have a huge selection of brews on tap. But drinks aren't the only thing on the menu here! They also have a bunch of delicious Neopolitan pizzas you can order to go with your cocktails.
Some of the pizzas on their menu include their kale and sausage pizza, mortadella and artichokes pizza, and many more! You can indulge in all the greasy pizza and sweat cocktail as your heart desires, and then confess in the confessional when you're done.
