The Toronto Christmas Market Is Bringing Back The Stunning 100 Foot Light Tunnel For 2018

Cluny's patio will be turned into a twinkling light tunnel were you can warm up with some hot chocolate!

December in the city of Toronto is a big deal and there are numerous events dedicated to celebrating the holiday season in all of its glory. While some may say that September is too early to start planning your holiday events this year, we believe there is never a wrong time to get into the Christmas spirit.

Luckily for Canadians living or visiting Toronto this holiday season, there will be plenty to see and enjoy. From brand new festivals celebrating the magical winter season to old classic's like the Distillery District's must-visit Christmas Market, you surely won't be bored over the holidays.

While the Toronto Christmas Market is a classic holiday event, there was a new addition that made the 2017 market even more magical than before. If you've been to the Distillery District, you've probably eaten at the restaurant that hosts this special event but now they're bringing some sparkling light to Christmastime.

Cluny Bistro and Boulangerie is a fabulous French restaurant with a beautiful patio, where visitors can enjoy a glass of wine or a nice fresh meal. But this winter it will be transformed into a 100-ft light tunnel where guests can warm up and take the perfect Instagram photo.

You will definitely want to explore all the amazing booths and storefronts the Toronto Christmas Market has to offer but then go enjoy a hot chocolate on Cluny's patio for a nice break from the cold. Even though it's an outdoor pavilion, thousands of twinkly lights make the area inviting to tons of visitors and that helps heat up the area in no time at all.

While the sparkling 100 ft light tunnel was a new addition last year, Rik Ocvirk, Vice President of The Distillery Restaurants Corp, confirmed with Narcity that the Cluny's patio will be transformed again for 2018.

What Ocvirk also mentioned that it would be having some additions put in place. Last year the patio served mulled wine, alcoholic or non-alcoholic hot chocolate, a selection of beer and fondue!

Whatever addition they're adding will definitely be worth the visit to the light tunnel!

The twinkling lights are the perfect backdrop for a romantic moment, a laugh with your good friends, or a picturesque Instagram picture. Just be prepared that due to the popularity of the Christmas Market there may be a line during peak visiting hours and weekends.

Nothing quite captures the holiday spirit like some hot chocolate, twinkly lights, and a chilly winter evening in the snow with the people you love. The Toronto Christmas Market is operating out of the Distillery District from November 15 until December 23 for the 2018 celebration.

Not only is the light tunnel at the Toronto Christmas Market, but so much more. Before you stop in on Cluny's patio you can enjoy some schnitzel on a bun, look around at all the unique vendors selling perfect holiday gifts, and try some of the local breweries for a drink!

No matter what, don't miss out on the Cluny's light tunnel this winter because while this addition may be new, it sure is a keeper. While I personally recommend the mulled wine, a fondue pot full of melted cheese can keep you cozy on even the coldest winter nights.

The Toronto Christmas Market is free on weekdays and only $6.00 on weekends starting at 5:00 P.M. on Fridays!
