Sandwiches are one of those meals we all grew up on. Our parents would make us a peanut butter and jelly sandwich every day for lunch and we'd be more than happy about it.
But sandwiches were always those foods that were faithfully good to us but we never really thought much of them. They weren't anything fancy, they were just good enough.
When you think about it though, sandwiches are probably one of the most versatile foods there is. So it's no surprise that there's now a festival happening in Toronto to celebrate them!
The Toronto Sandwich Fest will be happening on Sunday, April 22nd at Artscape Wychwood Barns near the Saint Clair West area. You may be confused about how a festival dedicated to sandwiches is going to work, I'll break it down for you.
There's going to multiple vendors on location serving up their unique sandwich creations! There will also be sandwich themed activities, sandwich design and sandwich eating competitions.
Some of the vendors and their creations for this special event are Tuck Shop Kitchen's amazing BLT, Stuff'd Grilled Cheese & Tots classic grilled cheese and double cheese burger, Kitson & Co. classic Italian muffaletta, and Sul Irmaos Smokehouse pulled pork sliders!
There will also be a few dessert vendors set up including Hot Shot Chocolate, Palett America gelato, and Sweetlegs. There will also be alcohol on site with live music!
Tickets to the event will cost $25 and you can choose from two entry times either 11am-2pm or 3pm-6pm. Your ticket will include your 'sandwich passport' that will allow you to sample all the yummy sandwiches from all the vendors included. You'll also get a chance to win some special prizes!
Check out their website for more information and to purchase your ticket!
