There's few things in this world that I love more than cheese. I mean, cheese is one of those things that makes almost every single meal better by including it. Make a delicious pasta? Throw some cheese on top! Frying up a burger on the grill? Add a slice of cheese for melty goodness! Making a sandwich for lunch? All you have to do is throw some cheese between bread and fry it in a pan!
I could honestly go on and on about how amazing cheese is because it's the ultimate comfort food. While there's been events and festivals for meals that cheese is one of the main stars in, like pizza and mac n' cheese festivals, there's never been an event solely for cheese here!
Crazy, right? Now Toronto is hosting a huge night market this summer that's dedicated to artisan cheeses and it's going to be as delicious as it sounds. It's actually Canada's first ever artisan cheese night market so you definitely don't want to miss out if you're a cheese lover.
The Artisan Cheese Night Market is going to be held on June 7th in the St Lawrence Market! This is an event every cheese lover in the GTA and beyond should attend because once you buy a ticket into the event all the cheese, charcuterie, wines and spirits, and other artisan foods is completely free.
Yup, you read that right! Tickets to the event cost $35 in advance or $40 at the door of the event. It may sound a little steep but when you think of all the cheese, snacks and drinks you can enjoy while you're there, you'll realize it's 100% worth it.
This event is all about the best Canadian artisan cheese makers because the night before they're also hosting Cheese of the Year award! This event is just eating amazing cheese, drinking and snacking the night away (although it's definitely the most important) you can also meet artisan cheese makers, buy full pieces of your favourites and enjoy live entertainment!
The event is taking place from 4-10pm but there will be two different entries, 4-7pm and 7-10pm to avoid over-crowding. The event is strictly 19+ because of the wine and sprits given freely at the event.
