Is half of your heart in Havana but you’re stuck in Toronto? No worries, La Cubana has you covered! The Cuban chain actually has three locations in the city, but it’s Ossington venue stands out in particular.
Just over a year ago, La Cuban on Ossington went from being a take-out counter to a full-service restaurant and diner. The space is Havana-themed with its rustic decor, latin music and authentic Cuban cuisine and drinks.
The retro-style set up is very much like what you’d see at small eateries in Cuba. The bright colours and tropical designs will make you feel like you’ve been transported to the island country.
The restaurant serves some really great eats, like traditional conch fritters, salads and Cuban burgers. There’s also plenty of drinks and cocktails you can order to accompany your meal, from The Nacional (pineapple, rum and apricot brandy) to The El Parasia (gin, basil and grapefruit).
Tucked away behind the restaurant, is the recently opened Bar Habana, which is also brimming with Cuban vibes. The venue is primarily dedicated to hosting small or large groups for private events of all kinds, however you can also drop in from Thursday through Sunday to grab some Cuban cervezas, cocktails, mojitos and more.
