Toronto’s Ladurée Is Now Open: This Is What It Actually Looks Like (Photos)
It's as close to Paris as we'll get!! 😍
The wait is over people. The world-renowned pastry phenomenon, Maison Ladurée, has finally made its Toronto debut yesterday!
Best known for its artful and delicate pastel-coloured macarons and to-die for branding, Ladurée announced several months ago that it would be opening its first Toronto store at the Yorkdale Shopping Centre, marking it as the brand's third location in Canada.
Located in the mall's luxury wing right across from Yves Saint Laurent, the 1000 sq.ft. shop is like a little slice of Paris in Toronto!
And judging from last night's long line ups to step foot inside those big green doors, the hype over Ladurée was totally worth the wait.
Designed by Ladurée's in-house creative team, the new shop features the brand's signature marble countertops, metallic accents and hints of mint green, powder blue, and rose, making the decor the perfect complement to your next Insta post.
Along with their iconic macarons that grace the salmon shelves, the Yorkdale location also sells speciality teas, jams, honeys, candles, room fragrances, books, and small accessories, making this a one-of-a-kind one-stop shop for all things adorable.
No doubt that the Toronto location is breath-taking, but when you compare it to the original shops in Paris, you can't help but feel slightly disappointed.
But the Toronto location is much more in line with the brand's contemporary aesthetic and harks a strong similarity to its LA counterpart located in the city's The Grove outdoor shopping mall.
Toronto's modest shop is ultra-exclusive; with only 26 seats, this is much more of a take-out option than a sit and sip type of place. But if you are able to snag a spot, make sure you order the Canadian-inspired maple syrup macaron! It will only be offered for a limited time in celebration of the grand opening!
