If you watched the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie, any of the 9 different versions ever made, you know how terrifying this serial killer is. Leatherface is probably one of the scariest serial killers ever created for films, based on a real-life serial killer named Ed Gein.
His crimes are infamous and he actually inspired other well-known horror movies such as Psycho, The Silence of The Lambs, Hannibal, and more. If you've ever wanted to experience the thrill of a horror movie in real life but without the actual danger to your life, an escape room is the next best thing!
There are tons of amazing escape rooms with horror themes in the Toronto area but 'The Short Cut' at Perplexity Escape Games is just like Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
The storyline of the game is while on a road trip with your friends you get a flat tire on a dark deserted road in the middle of nowhere. This forces you to seek help at a nearby farmhouse where a creepy couple lives with their odd children. While you wait for the tow truck they've called you accept their offer of a cup of tea, against your better judgement.
You eventually wake up chained up in an unfamiliar room where you hear the couple talking nearby. Your goal is to try to escape the creepy farmhouse and get out alive! The success rate of this game is pretty low at only 12% which means most of you won't have what it takes to escape the farmhouse.
The room can accommodate 4-10 people but they recommend 8. They have locations in both Brampton and Mississauga but only their Brampton location has The Short Cut game.
They warn players that some aspects of this game can be disturbing or frightening so participant discretion is advised before booking. The game costs $108 total and then you'll split it between the number of players participating which can be as low as $11 each!
