The hustle and bustle of Toronto life can be quite stressful at times. In the moments when we crave relaxation, it seems like all of the spa and massage services in the city are always out of our price ranges.
But not all hope is lost for Torontonians. In North York, there exists a relaxing place of solace that is easy on the mind, body and wallet. Seoul Zimzilbang is a traditional Korean sauna that operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. It is the first of its kind in the Greater Toronto Area, occupying a 16,000 square foot area that consists of multiple rooms, from mineral saunas to lounge areas.
The sauna is suitable for people of all ages. As soon as you enter, you will be prompted to take off your shoes and put them in a locker. An entrance fee of $25 applies to all adults, and $15 to all children (ages 3-6). Once you've paid, you'll be handed a set of sauna shorts and a shirt that you'll wear during your visit. It is recommended that you bring a towel with you wherever you go, since the facility is set to a high temperature all throughout.
Guests are encouraged to bring their laptops, books and games with them to enjoy in the lounge areas. There are also TVs, arcade games and seven mineral saunas that you can use. Each sauna room is equipped with baskets of charcoal to enhance the benefits of each mineral. It is said that the mineral therapy has many beneficial effects on ailments such as diabetes, liver disease, skin inflammation, high blood pressure, stress, fatigue, muscle aches, and much more.
