Many of us are wanderlust and would love to explore the entire world. Unfortunately, not everyone is given the opportunity to travel for whatever reasons, especially when you're young and broke.

When it comes to dating, you always want to impress your partner by taking them to extraordinary places. Let's be honest here, who doesn't love to travel? Well, for your advantage with thorough research, I have compiled a list of places for you to take a date if they love to travel without having to leave Ontario!

1. African Lion Safari  // 1386 Cooper Road, Hamilton.

Escape to Africa by spending a day at Ontario’s very own safari. The safari park is located about 100 km from Toronto. Unlike a zoo, the two of you will be able to cruise in your own car (away from others) and gaze at animals. If your date is wanderlust and loves animals, going to African Lion Safari would be the most perfect date. Did I forget to mention the two of you can ride an elephant? 


2. Niagara-On-The-Lake 

Niagara-on-the-Lake is located in Southern Ontario. There are several cute restaurants, wineries and vintage hotels that will most defiantly capture your dates interests and love for travelling. You can also rent bicycles or go on a romantic walk along the picturesque trails.


3. Scarborough Bluffs // 61 Under Cliff Dr, Scarborough. 

The Bluffs are the perfect location for an adventurous date. If your date is yearning to explore cliffs, nature and bodies of water spend a day at the Scarborough Bluffs. Why go to Ireland if you can explore beautiful cliffs on Lakeshore, east of Toronto?


4. The Sultan's Tent // 49 Front St E, Toronto.

Explore the beautiful Moroccan culture at Sultan's Tent. You and your date can indulge in delicious Middle-Eastern cuisine and watch a belly dance performance. The elegant décor creates a comforting and traditional Moroccan atmosphere with jewel tone fabrics, colourful cushions and rugs as well as detailed textures.

5. Cheltenham Badlands // 1501-1901 Olde Base Line Rd, Caledon.

The Cheltenham Badlands will provide you with the ultimate sight seeing experience in Ontario. The natural hills are reminiscent of the Grand Canyon, as they have an orangey hinge, similar to the colors at the famous park in Arizona. Public access is available at the viewing area at the top of the badlands slope.


6. Mazinaw Rock // Bon Echo Provincial Park

The Mazinaw Rock is the perfect place to check out for an extraordinary kayaking date. It is located at Bon Echo Park, stands at about 330 ft high and the face of the rock has over 260 ancient pictographs. Why go to Egypt when you can explore native Canadian art in Ontario?


7. Spirit Tree Cidery // 1137 Boston Mills Rd, Terra Cotta.

Spirit Tree is a cidery, bakery and farm store located in the Caledon Hills. Escape to the cute country side for a romantic date. The vibes are similar to those of Napa Valley in California and Barolo and Barbaresco n Italy!


8. Halton County Radial Railway  // 13629 Guelph Line, Milton.

Take your date on a unique street car experience. The museum features restored historic street cars, radial and work cars from 1954. You'll be able to take a ride on the street cars and fulfill your date's love for travelling by taking them on a trip into the past. Why go to platform 9 3/4 in London when you can check out the radial railway in Milton?


9. Long Point Eco Adventures // 1730 Front Rd, St. Williams.

Explore Ontario's Costa Rica like jungle at Long Point Eco Adventures. Go zip lining, on a canopy or boating tour, mountain biking or check out the long point observatory for star gazing. Experience Ontario's greatest adventure during the day and rent one of their wilderness suites to stay over night.

10. Bruce Peninsula // Tobermory

Ontario's very own Bruce Peninsula has turquoise waters similar to those in the Caribbean. Spend a day with your date exploring the caves, swimming in the beautiful clear water and hiking the cliffs.


11. The Donkey Sanctuary // 6981 Puslinch Conc. 4 RR#6, Guelph.

Let's be honest here, donkeys are so dorky who wouldn't want to see them in person? There's no need to visit Africa or Asia because you can visit the sanctuary with your date just an hour away from Toronto and spend the day goofing around with donkeys!


12. West Montrose // Covered Bridge Drive, Woolwich. 

West Montrose is a fairy tale like town because they have a kissing bridge! Take your date on a romantic day trip and seal your love for each other with a kiss on the Covered Bridge instead of going all the way to Venice!


13. Guu Izakaya // 1314 Queen Street West, Toronto

Have dinner at Guu Izakaya for the ultimate Japanese dining experience because shouting is their specialty other than serving authentic food! Izakaya is a type of informal Japanese gastropub. The vibrant and loud atmosphere will transport you and your date straight to Tokyo!


14. The Shameful Tiki Room // 1378 Queen Street West, Toronto.
