Every year, the Parliament buildings are illuminated with hundreds of thousands of lights to ring in the holiday season. This year's ceremony is particularly special, because it will be in anticipation of Canada's 150th anniversary.

Parliament Hill is located in Ottawa, which is approximately a 4-hour drive from Toronto. It's definitely worth the drive - there will be amazing musical performances, a pyrotechnic and lightscapes show, winter-themed art installations (Prismatica), a lighting march throughout the city, BeaverTails pastries, hot chocolate, and much more! But if you can't make it, all of the ceremony's festivities will be broadcasted live on Facebook.
