This 18+ Horror-Themed Campground Is The Most Disturbing Place To Go Camping
13 hours of pure hell.
Get ready for a night of absolute terror — an interactive haunted camping experience called Survive The Night is coming next month, and it'll scare the living sh*t out of you.
Held at Scarefest Screampark in New Haven, Michigan, which is just four hours away from Toronto, Survive The Night puts campers through 13 hours of pure hell, with an arrangement of realistic, horror-themed entertainment organized by park staff. Don't expect to get any sleep, as you'll be dealing with flesh-eating denizens, chainsaw-wielding maniacs and threatening situations all night.
Survive The Night is so intense that it's only available for adults. The event description says that there will be "intense scares, strong verbal content and adult-themes." It even warns that campers "may be moved, bound and handled" or "placed in uncomfortable situations which may be considered offensive in nature."
Survive The Night staff assure that such content is purely part of the experience and is for entertainment purposes only. Though the actors may touch you, you will not be in any real danger whatsoever as it is all just part of the show.
At some point in the night, there will also be an interactive horror hunt, which will pit campers against each other in a race to find, collect and trade a list of items. The horror hunt takes place throughout the 50-acre forest, which is filled with ghosts, ghouls and zombies that will try to stop you from completing the challenge. It will take teamwork, skill and quick thinking to successfully make it out alive.
Campers are expected to gather at the campground before 10 pm, which is few hours before Scarefest Screampark closes for the night. There is a mandatory review of the night's itinerary, as well as the rules for camping.
Campers are reminded that the use of any alcohol or narcotics, bringing weapons, wearing costumes or masks, recording video, using flash photography, running, or touching the actors is strictly prohibited. They are also advised to pack a few survival items with them, including a tent, sleeping bag and pillow, flashlight, notebook, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, and a change of clothes and shoes. You can read all the Survive The Night rules and tips here.
